MURDER MYSTERIES
Painted Past has several different one-act plays and murder mysteries that we have put together for audience enjoyment! We can perform most of these in several different formats and at the venue of your choice. They are perfect entertainment for any convention, party, reunion, or fundraiser. Give us a call and we can come up with something that works for your needs.

Dinner Theatre
In our ever popular dinner theatre format, the audience observes the cast throughout cocktails, dinner and dessert. We try to keep our dinner theatres interactive so be prepared to ask the actors questions during the meal because they will be milling through the group and one of them might even be dining right next to you! We usually take a short break after the murder for the audience to fill out their ballot with their choice of who the murderer is.
If your organization is wanting to host a Painted Past dinner theatre, you will just have to make sure you have a venue and a way to provide the food. We charge a flat rate for the show and you can charge what you want for tickets.
This format can also work well as a dessert theatre or if you want to do it just for fun for your organization, a carry-in is a great option as well!
The overnight murder mystery format is a fun, weekend getaway. In this format, the characters are introduced during the cocktail hour with motives being reveled during dinner. The audience is awakend at midnight to view the murder scene and the murderer is revealed the next morning at breakfast. This style of theater can be hosted by a hotel, bed and breakfast or at a family home.

Shows
We have done several different murder mysteries in the past and can revisit any of our previous versions if requested. We are always adding new ones so check back here for information on upcoming shows
One Act Plays
We currently have a one act play called Death By Chocolate that finds Mrs. Pippa Pipping Hot confronting her "friends" about the murder of her husband, a murder that she was falsely accused for! As the play progreses we find that each of them had a motive and a means to kill her husband but only one of them actually administered the fatal dose of poison.
"Clue" Shows
Our most popular murder mysteries are based on the board game Clue, but each has a different theme and the characters, while always named Peacock, Plum, Scarlett, White, Green and Mustard, take on different personalities with each one.
Some of our previous Clue shows are:
Clues at Tudor Manor is the traditional take on Clue with each of the characters being exactly like they are in the board game. The setting is British estate of Mr. Boddy who ends up lying dead at the bottom of the stairs in a pool of blood by the end of the evening.
Clues at Casa Gecko is a south of the border adventure with a crazy group of individuals caught up in smuggling drugs across the border by hiding them in tamales!
Caribbean Clues is a piratey version of your favorite board game with each of the characters being a pirate captain in The Brethern of the Tide. Captain Morgan has died and left his spot as Admiral of the Tide to Captain Booty. However, when he is found dead in his cabin, suspicions rise and the pirates start to turn on one another!
Cardiac Clue is a medical murder mystery following the last moments of the patient, Harry Boddy. Harry is visited by his family, business associate and medical staff and does not come out of the experienc alive. Was it medical error or murder?
Who's Who in Clue finds Professor Paula Plum hosting a costume party and she has invited some rather interesting guests. Harriett Boddy has found that each of the people at the party have been receiving a monthy stipend from her father for no known reason. However, now that he is dead, she is going to make sure that the money stays with her! Watch everyone closely though, because Harriett might not get a chance to spend all of that money.

Improvisation can be defined as "on the spot or off the cuff spontaneous activity". When we perform A Night of Improv, that is exactly what happens. Our actors pull out all the stops when suggestions are taken from the audience as we play various improv games. This setup is very flexible as we can perform it in different sets with breaks in between. And you are guaranteed to get a good laugh along the way. Improv is perfect for almost any venue or any occasion as it can be adapted to fit any theme and is different every time we perform it! Improv can be the feature entertainment for your company event, party, family reunion or fundraiser.
Dates and times will be posted for any future offerings of improv that are open to the public.
